I am not from California. I lived in SF for three years and have followed the state quite closely since the 1970’s. This ability to ignore the will of the people does not supprise me. In California it seem to be cronic.I, for one, am very disappointed in our Democratic-run legislature. Yes, they are ignoring the will of the people, doing what ever they can to by-pass what was decided by popular vote!
Thanks for the link! I’ll be e-mailing the Governor my thanks!
article:
I was really curious if Ahnold was going to use this phrase.“Any girlie man could have vetoed this legislation,” she said, referring to a term Schwarzenegger used previously to mock Democratic legislators. “A real man demonstrating real leadership as governor of the most populous state in the nation would have chosen a different course of action.”
According to FOX at 8:30 eastern time this morning 9/8/05 it WILL be vetoed when the governor gets it. As it should be as the people of the state have stated in PROP 22 that marrage is one man and one woman.I just heard on 1530AM in Sacramento that the Governor vetoed it… citing Prop 22.
I don’t know you’d be disappointed. Ignoring the will of the people on issues such as gay marriage is SOP for the such activists, who enjoy the overwhelming support of the Democratic Party.I, for one, am very disappointed in our Democratic-run legislature. Yes, they are ignoring the will of the people, doing what ever they can to by-pass what was decided by popular vote!
The last time Arnold used the phrase “girlie man,” he was accused of “homophobia.” But when a homosexual activist uses the phrase…I was really curious if Ahnold was going to use this phrase.
You know, these people don’t listen to themselves. Any girlie man could possibly veto it, I suppose, but the chances are astronomical that one would.
The funny thing is they seem to think that the term “girlie man” is a liability to the governor, when I think it may just be they are giving him some free publicity.
