Does anyone know of a long range calender online with the readings, feasts etc? The A-B-C year lists are leaving me a bit confused. If a Feast falls on a Sunday, which readings prevail ? Am I counting the ordinaries correctly ? And What’s going to happen to the next Annunciation ? It falls on Good Friday !

It all started with a simple plan to merge the kids school calender, the re calender, the sports calender, the family event calender, and print it out for Sept - June and pass it out so the entire extended family could be on the same page, and save alot of cellphone time.

Then came this silly idea to put a mystery question on each sunday the participants would have to pay attention to the readings to answer, and meybe lure the unattending to ask the attending what happened…

Now its August 30th, and I’m not done…

Thanks for your help!

You would have to apply the rules for “feasts” of different ranks. Usually Sunday takes preceedence over the lower ranking feasts during Ordinary Time, however not always the higher ranking one’s or outside of Ordinary Time. My guess that since Good Friday is part of the Triduum. That the solemnity of the three days would not be broken for the Annunciation, if it in fact falls there. But that is just a guess.

Thanks so much !

That site is exactly what’s needed, and More.
And you guys were right. There’s no mention of the Annunciation.

It has the Annunciation moved to Monday April 4th, well outside the Tridium. I am greatly relieved, it just didn’t seem right to skip it entirely.

There are a bunch of rules, in the front of the Sacramentary, the red book on the altar - not the one at the Ambo, that discuss this.

Rather than try to understand them, it is easier just to get an Ordo for your diocese. The parish probably has one. It is a small book that details what must and what can be done each day. It is rather compact so you may need a priest to explain it to you, and it may be much more than you want to know.

The site referenced is probably the easiest, but watch out for days peculiar to your diocese or parish - patron saints, church dedications, etc.
