The sad thing about it is how many people will equate no homosexual marriage with hatred of homosexuals. I feel pity for the poor souls trapped in these sins.

I saw an interview with a gay activist on TV. The activist was very pro-gay rights, but wasn’t one of those people who marches on churches and disrupts places or shouts at people, just an advocate for gay rights. The interviewer noted, in response to the activist’s call for “tolerance” that “tolerance” works both ways ~ that while gays are asking for “tolerance” and respect for their views, they have the same obligations to “tolerate” and respect opposing views. The activist was taken aback. It was like he was hearing something new.

Apparently tolerance and respect only work one way? Who knows? But one thing was shown for sure, even here in California, and that is that as Americans, we have a right to our own opinions, and we have a right to bring issues before the voters. But we don’t have the right to WIN. Those that supported the rights of gays to marry (and voted accordingly on Prop 8) cannot handle losing. But they need to. They’ve been beaten twice.
