The level of female education is a major factor - the birth rate tends to be lower in countries with more educated women. There are a number of reasons for this, of course, such as later ages of marriage/household formation and it holds true whatever the religion - hence the lower rates of fertility in countries like Turkey and Iran.

I can understand how women who seek education to support themselves may have student loans and need to pay back those loans so they delay marriage.

So in a country that has a muslim faith population is it about their faith or is it more about faith and control. Those countries with more control have stronger population. Because of lack of education even if women are dirt poor, they have more children.

After a major World War with great hardship, it would seem that the population would go down but women and men starting marrying earlier so it seems as if some feeling had to come out of the war that maybe we were empowered and could handle more births… Germany also had a birth boom but it didn’t happen under 1955.

It’s a mistake to think that the rest of the world is like the United States. I’m a European, I’ve lived in the United States, Western Europe is not the same as the United States, Niger is even less like the United States, young women in Niger do not spend their lives worrying about paying back loans for attending Harvard.

So in a country that has a muslim faith population is it about their faith or is it more about faith and control. Those countries with more control have stronger population. Because of lack of education even if women are dirt poor, they have more children.

Muslims are not automatically different from everybody else. A recent survey of young Muslim women in the UK showed that their priorities ran - get an education, start a business, get married, have children, run the business. Young women in Niger (or equivalent) don’t have those options. More technologically/educationally advanced Muslim societies tend to be a bit like everywhere else.

In dirt poor Muslim societies, women tend to be uneducated, are married off young, have lots of children many of whom die.
