Today I recieved a letter from a religious order asking me to fill out a form, send them some money, and they would “test” my calling to the priesthood. Is this normal? I’m a married woman so I think I’ve already tested my calling, so to speak.

Which Order was it?

Can’t think of the name off hand, I just tossed it aside. It said they had something like 600 priests and 2300 seminarians around the world.

Actually I believe that the Legion of Christ does have something that they do like this but it includes a trip to Rome and they ask those who go on it to pay but what is paid is a lot less than if you went to Rome on your own.

I do not believe that they just “cold call” with this though. Some how you got on a mailing list for this sort of thing or it is someone trying to scam you.

You’re on a mailing list-plain and simple.

I always get offers for equity home loans from my own bank and I don’t own any real estate-same thing. Some marketing is braodcast and others targeted.
