Prayer to the Holy Ghost for the Church
O Holy Spirit, Creator, be gracious the Catholic Church; and by thy heavenly power make it strong and secure against the attacks of its enemies; and renew in love and grace the spirit of thy servants, whom thou hast anointed, that they may glorify thee and the Father and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. We are called to relationship with God. How can a relationship develop without communication? Prayer,communication, means “lifting our hearts and minds to God.”
St. Paul says to pray unceasingly. The OT calls us to pray 7 times a day, synonymous with continuously. The Liturgy of the Hours, the official prayer of the Church, makes this possible. There are other ways as well to add more prayer to our lives.
