In my neighborhood, there is an ecumenical service held every January. It is held at various churches, Catholic and Protestant. I respect my Protestant brothers and sisters, even though I am a Catholic. Yes, I wish that they would become Catholic, but I believe in being charitable to all, and respectful of their beliefs. In fact, the one Methodist Church that participates in the services has a pastor who is married to a Catholic. The Methodist minister respects his wife’s beliefs, and he would not ever think of trying to convert her. He is a wonderful Christian. I was struggling because I had fallen on difficult times and had become jealous of a friend who had just gotten a good job. I asked the Methodist minister to pray with me and for me. He gave me a Bible verse to read, said a prayer with me, and I immediately felt a weight come off my shoulders. I repented of my sin of envy (to God and later to my priest in confession), read the Bible, and was able to feel good for my friend and all the hostility and animosity was gone! I was able to thank and praise God for my friend finding something that would bless him. The Methodist pastor helped me a lot. I love my fellow Christians, whether they are Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant! :tiphat: :bounce: :blessyou:
