Is it a sin to make plans for camping Fri. through Mon. where no church is reasonably nearby to attend for our obligation?

While it is always prudent to check the availability of Mass for remote areas – you may be surprised where you can find it – if it is not available there is no sin in planning to travel in that area. The same would hold true in any remote area in which you planned to travel. You can call the diocese in which the camping ground is located to see if there are any nearby chapels.
