I don’t see why gays should be overly critisized for having a directory of this sort. Even if we disapprove of their sex lives, it’s currently legal, and why shouldn’t they have a directory? Catholics should also have a directory as to what colleges would be most friendly to us.

I think it’s a worse crime that Catholic Universities aren’t really Catholic anymore.😦

I understand what you’re saying, but I work at a university and I can completly see all the universities in the country falling over themselves trying to get a higher rating on this list.

Well, the flipside is that it would make a handy guide for those parents and students who would like to avoid such universities.

A part of me understands the want for a directory, but some of the factors seems a little self obsessed. But I also witnessed such gay rallying acceptance events, such as wear a base ball cap on Tuesday or wear jeans on Wednesday if you support gay rights. I never saw so many guys not wear their hats that day, or put on a pair of slacks to get to class.

My son is a University and he tells me that they have something that he terms “Gay Week”. It has an official name that escapes me at the moment. They had a lesbian marriage ceremony on campus one year. These universities spend an awful lot of money in pandering to different special interest groups. They have a whole ‘diversity office’ there. It’s a bunch of left-winged nonsense if you ask me.

I agree with you. We have so much work to do with our own institutions. For example, the court in New York recently ruled that catholic charities had to pay for contraception because it’s not a catholic organization. And I must say I agree with them.

Why do you agree with them? They are not directly part of the Catholic Church, but they are a private institution are they not? Why should the government be able to dictate to a private group that they pay for contraception??

All lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans-gendered faculty, staff and administrators are invited to be members of the LGFSAA.
There are so many gay people on the staff at a “catholic” college that they need their own club? These contact names were listed next:
College of Arts & Sciences:
Lisa Cuklanz, cuklanz.1@bc.edu (Communication)
John McDargh, harry.mcDargh@bc.edu (Theology)
Franco Mormando, mormando@bc.edu (Romance Languages & Literatures)
Kevin Newmark, newmark@bc.edu (Romance Languages & Literatures)
Grad. School of Social Work:
Nancy Veeder, veeder@bc.edu (COPPA)
Lynch School of Education:
Ana Maria Martinez Aleman, alemanan@bc.edu (Educational Admin)
David Scanlon, scanloda@bc.edu (Teacher Education)
Connell School of Nursing:
Anne Norris, anne.norris@bc.edu (Psych/Mental Health Nursing)
Law School:
Daniel Barnett, barnetda@bc.edu (LRRW)
Carroll School of Management:
Jeffrey Cohen, jeffrey.cohen.1@bc.edu (Accounting)
Theresa Hammond, theresa.hammond.1@bc.edu (Accounting)
Notice that one teaches theology?? Not to mention the ones in education and mental health nursing:confused: Disturbing to be sure.

My son’s favorite college…due to hockey. Luckily, he isn’t pushing to go there anymore…

There’s a law that requires employers to pay for contraception. Catholic charities is not arguing that the law is bad in generally (although they may believe that), they are arguing that they should be exempt because the law interferes with their practice of religion. The court is saying, “No, you are not a catholic organization.” All I am saying is that if the org. worked harder to maintain a catholic identity then the court would not find it so easy to dismiss their religious exemption claim. And thde same could be said for many of our catholic universities.

That happened at my fiancee’s school. (A catholic one, too, although it was done by the students).

I thought it was reverse-inclusive against freedoms of students on campus. Especially because the students would come up with particular actions that are hardships to avoid.

For example, one day if you supported gay rights, you were supposed to go into the food court.

Excuse me, so everyone else has to avoid it all day?

Very wrong.

Let’s hope they don’t say…“if you support gay rights, breathe.” 😃

LOL Back in the seventies, my university had regular “gay blue jeans day”. Since blue jeans were practically the required uniform of college students in those days, it didn’t really mean much to see kids in jeans on those days. But there was a huge uptick of girls who wore skirts on those days. 😉

I think every university has a “diversity office.” There’s really nothing diverse about it, though. They don’t believe in diversity of ideas and their definition of “diversity” is limited only to skin color or how one chooses to achieve an orgasm. (Sorry Mods, edit that last sentence if it’s too graphic…)

It’s just another industry, creating jobs for people whose specialty is B.S. I tell you, this country has too much time on it’s hands.
