Can a baby have two godmothers?

No. Canon law provides that one godparent is sufficient, but that when there are two there should be one from each sex (canon 873, Code of Canon Law). Just as a child has a mother and a father, and not two mothers or two fathers, so a new Christian has a godmother and a godfather and not two godmothers or two godfathers.
