The question is: Can a baby or a child develop spiritual life without a functional body? A soul is blocked by a unfunctional body or brain, or a immature body?
The answer must needs come from what we understand about the unique soul infused by God at conception. I imagine the soul to be like a glowing light that can and does reach for his/her creator, thus the growth of the spiritual life. I also imagine (in pious reflection) that babies in heaven grow spiritually by being taught by their guardian angels, just my imagination. :angel:t3:
Without a functional body, yes. Without a functional brain, maybe. I guess it really depends on how servere it is. But even if they can’t I still think they have God’s grace and aren’t held accountable as we are.
