Can a 'Blessed' be one's patron saint?

I’m wanting to choose for my confirmation name Marion-Imelda, after Our Lady and Blessed Imelda. Since Imelda isn’t known as a saint, would this be OK?

To answer your question: yes, it is perfectly appropriate. To address the question in your topic: since a “blessed” is, by defintion, not yet a *proclaimed *saint he or she cannot be a “patron saint” but certainly can be a “patron.” One of my heros of the faith is Fr. Miguel Pro, S.J. who is only a “blessed” and not a proclaimed saint. However, we know that all blesseds are in heaven and, therefore, are saints so – go ahead, use the name you want!

I am sort of worried about something, however. My former parish was asking us to choose a name, but we moved during the RCIA program to a different parish. They have yet to mention choosing a name. I’ve heard them say they prefer the name you were baptized with. Would it be wrong of me to ask for a name, how should I go about this?

You can still pick a name, it doesn’t matter what they “prefer”. This happen to me and I was an adult -though younger and less out spoken one. I wasn’t confirmed as a teenager.
I wanted to pick the name Mary but the nun giving the adult confirmation instruction said people used to pick confirmation names but that’s more of an old fashion idea. I regret not speaking up.
