Can a Catholic boy have a bar mitzvah?

Can a boy baptized and raised a Catholic by his Catholic mom and Jewish dad have a bar mitzvah? The Jewish grandparents would like their grandson to have one. If not, why? I need to be able to explain this to the grandparents.
 
Even if there was not a problem for Catholics of appearing to be a practicing member of a non-Christian religion, I very much doubt that there could be found a mainstream Jewish rabbi willing to preside over such an event. Rather than explain this to the grandparents yourself, I recommend that you suggest to them that they ask their rabbi about the possibility. He or she will be better able to explain to these grandparents from a Jewish point of view why what they propose is not possible.
