Can a Catholic get married on the beach?

The sacrament of matrimony ordinarily is administered in a church with the priest or deacon and the assembled congregation acting as witnesses. It is particularly fitting for Catholic weddings to be held in a church since the Church encourages Catholic couples to have a nuptial Mass in honor of their wedding. Two Catholics getting married would be unlikely to find a bishop willing to give the necessary permission for a Catholic wedding to be held on the beach.
