Can a Catholic wedding Mass be held at the family farm?

I have friends who want to get married in the Catholic Church, but they would like the nuptial Mass to be said at the family farm. Can they be married outside a church?

While permission is sometimes given for “home Masses,” it is unlikely a bishop would allow a Catholic nuptial Mass to be held outside a church. Suggest to your friends that they have the ceremony at a church and the reception at the family farm.
