I have a question about Baptism? If the sponsors for my child are only married civilly can they be godparents or are they ineligible? I was looking at the Code of Canon Law online but it was a bit vague. Also, what would happen if this civilly married couple were the only ones that I had for my child’s Baptism and they are ineligible? Would I still be able to Baptize my child or would I have to wait until I could find someone else? Also, at the moment I do not know anyone else who could be the godparents and I can’t imagine how long it would take until I find someone who is suitable.
