Can a funeral Mass be said for someone who has been cremated?

When a body is cremated and the urn with ashes is placed at the front of the church where normally a casket with the body would be placed, is it appropriate for the priest to say the normal funeral Mass, or is the memorial Mass more appropriate? Our pastor asked me if I knew, to which I replied “Huh?”
 
A funeral Mass can be offered and the urn holding cremains treated in the same manner as one would a casket holding a body (e.g., it can be carried in, it can be incensed, etc.).
