Can absolution be granted over the phone?

If a priest knows you are Catholic, can he hear a confession and grant absolution over the phone if a person cannot get to a priest for some time? Is the phone so much different than a screen?

Is the phone so much different than a screen?

Yes, because when confessing behind a screen you are confessing in person. The sacraments are distributed person to person and may not be administered via long-distance technology.
