I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I am serious.

If a person lives by the Catholic Faith, observes the sacraments, and all the rules and regulations, but can not make the jump to actually believe in the existence of Jesus or God, would that person be considered saved in the eyes of the church?

Backstabbinglia,

The following links should assist you in better understanding the Catholic Church’s teaching of extra ecclesiam nulla salus, “outside the Church there is no salvation,” and what that means for non-Catholics. The first link gives the Biblical explanation of what is necessary for salvation. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
