Does anybody here believe in evolution? I think evolution is likely to be real. However I just don’t know for sure. So if anyone here believes in evolution can provide me a reason to believe then that would be helpful.

I believe in evolution, too. However, somewhere in the processes, God blew His essence into whatever we were becoming and imbued us with souls. We are still His creations. I am here. I believe. There is a higher power. There is a greater good. God can do that, don’t 'cha know. I am not here to convince you.
'Though Stephen Hawakens said he didn’t believe in God, I think he did in his heart. Why else would he have searched the universe looking for answers? He was looking for God. I pray that he found Him. Peace.

But I just have a hard time accepting evolution as a fact because it hasn’t been proven to be a fact. Isn’t it just a theory? Because what if one day they proved evolution to be false?

Well, evolution a well-defined fact in many ways. With theory, it must be repeatable with the same results. I don’t really care if either one can be provable. I simply believe that there is a God and He sent His Son…and Jesus was a historical fact. Also, evolution continues right before our eyes daily. A Supreme Being is hard to fathom or accept. I simply believe. God Is. He is immutable. He is the burning flame that can not be extinguished or changed. Evolution is acceptable to be because even if you feel that you came from a one cell ameba SOMEONE created the ameba or whatever came before. I am just a simple thinker and don’t get stressed over theories or the sciences that are forever changing…i.e. Chemistry-The God Particle-The String Theory…The Theory of Everything. I’ll just leave all that up to Sheldon and Lenard.

Meditate on this for a bit please. Place the word God each place you have written evolution in this particular post. Also I’m not sure Catholicism or any other religion believes that evolution is mutually exclusive from religion. I understand that is not what you were asking. Science has not proven God nor has it disproven God. I think this why Believers are called faithful. I for one have faith that theory of evolution is fact.

Why would i want to?

Believe it don’t, the Church makes no dogmatic statement either way!

The components of evolution are factual, just not how it’s all pitched together as a fact to explain everything.

By components, I’m referring to Mutation, Natural Selection, Gene Flow, Genetic Drift, etc.

You can believe in these components as scientific facts.

I have neither time to worry about nor interest in how God created man. It is that he did so that matters.

Whether he formed us of dust or sent evolutionary forces, it is still He that did it, and sent his only son in the Incarnation.

I just don’t see the how as an important question.
