Can anyone identify this?

I was reading an article in the BBC of Mr Bee’s rescue off Cape Canaveral and wondered what sea life can be seen to the right of him. It looks like a star fish but unusual to see on the seabed. Could have fallen off the ships underwater side of the hull. I don’t think it is a barnacle falling off.

Any thoughts?

I hate to say it but it looks like SpongeBob doing an imitation of Patrick Star.
