Can Catholics be in non-Catholic weddings?

My son and daughter-in-law are both Catholic. If asked by their non-Catholic friends to be in their wedding as a bridesmaid and/or groomsman, would this be possible? Their friends are Christian and to their knowledge have no Catholic background.
