Can Catholics Say a Prayer at a non-Catholic funeral?

I read somewhere that Catholics were not allowed to take an active role in a non-Catholic liturgical service. Does this mean we are not allowed to offer a brief eulogy or say a prayer at a Protestant funeral service?
