Can Eucharistic ministers give blessings?

I have recently become a Eucharistic minister at our parish and have came to understand through listening to Catholic Answers that we are instructed not to give blessings to individuals that can’t receive the Eucharist. Is this true? How should I handle the situation at our parish, for we have currently been doing this for several years?
