Can germs lead to sin?

In this link. It says a toilet can launch germs up to 6 feet.

To make a long explanation short.

If you believe that the germs are all over you because you flushed a toilet.
and you do nothing about it. Is it a sin?

Does having germs on you, and doing nothing = a sin?
Even if the germs are Really bad? (Fecal, or anything else found on a toilet)

No, it’s not a sin. But if it makes you feel better, close the lid before you flush. And keep your toothbrush out of the line of fire!

I’m not sure if germs can lead to sin, but sin can certainly lead to germs.

BTW, the bacteria in the average bathroom in the US are much less dangerous than the bacteria in the average kitchen (particularly in the sink, and on counters where food is prepared.)

You already have germs all over you. Staph is a very common “germ” found up the noses and on the skin of most people.

In fact, you have 500 - 1000 different kinds of bacteria in your intestinal tract, in fact, I’ve read some sources that say you have about 2 - 7 kilos of bacteria in and on your body depending on your size.

Bar you having some kind of immune system problem, such bacteria is actually harmless, and actually good, its helpful for you to be exposed to bacteria as to build immunities and strength against it. All these “hospital strength” anti-bacterials are causing all kinds of mutations in the harmless strands of bugs.

Its defintely no sin.

Of course, if you ended up falling prey to some massive infection and you did nothing to try and get rid of it you wouldn’t be looking after your body which is a temple of the Holy Spirit and so there could be some level of venial sin. The only othe rway I can see “germs” being used ina sinful way woudl be if you intended on releasing Ebola in a shopping mall or if you wiped a heap of pus from a festering wound you have all over someone’s eyes.

Long and short of it, bacteria, viruses, fungi et al, are EVERYWHERE, including on you and in you. To really be in trouble from toilet bugs you’d have to get down and lick the seat and even that won’t be that bad.

A good deal of studies out there show the mouses at internet cafe’s and money are bigger sources of bacteria then the toilet.

Mythbusters did a segment on this, and yep, toothbrushes get poop-germs on them all the time. Ewwww.
