Can glass goblets be used during Mass to hold the precious Blood of Christ?

I recently attended Mass at a church where the precious Blood of Christ was consecrated and distributed in glass wine goblets (not leaded glass, just regular glass). Is this permissible? Doesn’t the GIRM require that sacred vessels be made of metal? If the use of glass goblets is not permissible, what effect does it have on the Mass?
