The blessedness found in mourning is for this life, not the next as the following words of the Lord make clear: “for they shall be comforted.” We are comforted by our faith in Him as we mourn in this life, but in heaven all tears are wiped away in the fullness when we no longer see “through a glass, darkly” He Who is our Comfort.Meaning there is no suffering, not that those there can’t feel sadness. Blessed are they who mourn, and all of that. God and the saints in Heaven must feel emotions, although in a pure and perfect way. Otherwise, they would be less perfect than those of still on earth.
