Can God's will for one's life sometimes bring with it stress?

Recently…we moved to Florida. We really love our new home and neighborhood. Ok…well, yesterday…the plumbing system totally backed up. We are renting for the first year, to decide if this is the community we want to stay in. Thankfully we did this, because today, the plumber came out to share with us, that after digging up the front yard all day, the builder didn’t lay the pipe correctly…and the water from the toilets doesn’t drain properly.

So, $500 later…my landlord not altogether thrilled with us (like this is somehow our doing? we have only been here three weeks!) …last night someone driving by threw a large empty vodka bottle onto our property… …I am starting to ask…was this God’s will for us to move here?

Deep down, I feel that it is…and I recall Noah…Moses…St Paul…who followed God’s will, and really had a time of things! So…my day with the plumber seems rather ridiculous.

My question is…if everything falls into place, yet life throws these curve balls…is it wrong to question God’s will?

I also have more demands on me at work now…and my husband is looking for work…which he has been on a few interviews, but still. After the whole plumbing thing–it makes me just feel blah about the whole move now.

Any advice on how to look at this differently? I’m normally a positive thinker–but I’m struggling today.

Jesus came into the world preaching total Love and Peace and he was crucified on a Cross and abandoned.

The Saints all suffered to do the Will of God.

Considering you have a teenager and another one on the way (teenager) you will look back on the plumber and laugh.

and when did you get to be so smart, huh, matthew? Thank you…I really like your Mother Teresa reference…hahaha…that’s really a good one! I read yesterday’s mass reading about how Jesus told His followers not to worry…or be anxious for tomorrow.

Smartness consists in knowing that you know nothing. That is true as well as funny. Basically I never want to think that I can’t learn anything.
