Hello so i just moved to washington from massachusetts and i’m looking to attend a mass out here this is my first time attending a new church other than the one i grew up in i’ve been baptized i’ve had my first communion and i’ve made my confirmation i’m just not sure if i can attend without being registered in their parish? also can i accept communion if i’m not registered?

If you’re Catholic you can go to any Catholic Church and receive communion (as long as you’re in a state of grace). If you’re settling down in a new place, you should talk with your new parish priest to know what’s up and down - and perhaps about economy in the local church.

Of course you can attend Mass, anywhere in the world if you want, and if you are in a state of grace, you can also receive Communion. Why would you think otherwise?

You can go to any Catholic Mass you want, receive Communion at any Catholic church you want, anywhere in the world, with no registration or special procedure required.
Talking to the priest might be a nice thing to do but it is not necessary or required to attend Mass and receive.
