We are concerned about us having different religions, her being Free Evangelical and I being Catholic. We have discussed maybe finding a midpoint church or something of that nature, but I do not know how to go about that or what to do. I would like to stay Catholic and not become an outsider. Is there anyway I could still appease my future wife by attending church with her at a midpoint church but still maintain a good relation with the Catholic Church?

There is a reason the Church strongly discourages interfaith marriages, and this is it: You are placing your Catholic faith at risk by trying to “appease” your future wife in finding some kind of “midpoint” church you can attend together. When the Church grants a dispensation for a Catholic to marry a non-Catholic, the Catholic must promise to do all that he can to remain Catholic, fulfill his obligations, and to raise his children Catholic. He cannot put his Catholic faith or his children’s Catholic faith at risk by regularly attending a non-Catholic church with his non-Catholic wife.

You may not want to hear this, but I can only recommend that you do not marry a woman who is unable to support you in maintaining your Catholic faith and is likely going to be unable to support you in raising your children Catholic. If it is important to you to remain Catholic and to raise your children Catholic – and which is a serious obligation for every Catholic – then I strongly urge you to end this relationship and seek a Catholic wife. You will also be doing this woman the favor of setting her free to find a man with whom she can share her religious views and be able to raise her children according to her beliefs.
