Can I be a groomsmen in a Protestant wedding?

A very good friend of mine who I have known since the first grade has become engaged and he has asked me to be one of his groomsmen. On impulse I told him that I would but I’m not sure if it would be ignorant of me as a Catholic to celebrate a wedding that is not perceived as valid through the eyes of God since my friend is an Evangelical Protestant.

Is it ok for me to be a member of the wedding party and actively celebrate his marriage although the sacrament is not carried out in the Catholic Church?
