Can I be forced to receive the Eucharist on the tongue?

Hello, pilgrim. The crux of your issue is that the criteria of the school, to which you now object, . . .ARE . . .the . . . critieria . . . of . . . the . . . SCHOOL ! Read that again. The criteria of the school are the criteria of the SCHOOL!
They can run the school any way they like, but they are not in alignment with the Church and do not get to dictate how Sacraments are received. They are putting themselves above the Pope and the Bishop should be told. I would call/write the Bishop and let him know about this.

Cafeteria Catholicism comes in many forms. If ‘liberals’ can be stripped of their Catholic status and the honor of having Communion available, than so can ‘conservatives’ who think they’re holier than the Pope. It goes both ways. 🤷

Again, nowhere did I say that I’m not honoring the contract. *Every time *we have Mass at school, I genuflect before the Eucharist and receive on the tongue. This isn’t a question of “do I honor the contract or not?” My only inquiry here is “Can a lay organization prescribe a limitation on Church law?” The fact that I signed the contract makes it valid in a legal sense, but, in an ecclesiastical sense, is it that clause valid?
No, they can’t take away, without good reason, what the Church allows. Just report them to the Bishop. Personally, I’d report them to the Bishop and look for another job. Why do you want to work for a place that violates your rights to the Sacraments anyway.

As I said, I didn’t fully understand the debate or the issues associated with it when I took the job. I had never had to ask such questions. Also, it’s tough for a twenty-something-year-old to get a job these days!

If you are attending the OF then your rights as a Catholic are violated. Someone forcing you to receive COTT is violating the Code of Canon Law and is committing grave matter, they should be corrected and reported to the Bishop if they insist on doing that. If you do a search on CAF you will find a post by JReducation that refers to that very specific case. I will post the link if I can find it, it is a couple of months old. A contract of that kind is an explicit violation of the CCL.
Could you please refer to the specific canon the school is violating. Maybe you already listed it and I just missed it, if so I am sorry.

This sounds just like one of those statements in relation to liturgical abuses. Catholics have a moral duty to do things according to specific procedures and that starts from the biblical command to talk to the brother that offends us first and later to go to the Church if we are not satisfied.

Are you asking for a specific canon that says that an individual has not authority to take away the rights granted by the Church?

No.

I’m not a lawyer, but wouldn’t the fact that the school has no authority to dictate how you receive communion invalidate that portion in a legal sense? Or the fact that the contract has a “Catholic” clause invalidate that portion since on the hand is valid?

But, on the other hand, the school can choose to only hire people who agree of their own free will to commit on receiving COTT.

That is in violation of no canon.

Off school property in their own OF parish on a non-working day?

Got to thinking (dangerous), If the school is celebrating the OF Mass, then you are allowed to recieve either way. Not so with the EF Mass.

But that is not determined by the school, nor is it something the school can require.
