Can I do This on Sundays?

So this morning, I went to Divine Liturgy. After church, I was dropped off at home, and then my mother was going to a few places. I went with her. Was it wrong for me do this? We went to drop something off at a doctor’s office and to get gas. I’m scared now that I shouldn’t have done this. What do you think?

What I think is that it sounds like you are developing some very scrupulous tendencies/ideas.

Talk to your priest if you believe any of what you did today is sinful as opposed to normal.

Below is something from the Catechism which may help.

To me, it sounds like it was a family day, and you already participated at Mass, but if your conscience is bothering you perhaps it would be a good idea to email one of the apologists on this site with your question.

2193 “On Sundays and other holy days of obligation the faithful are bound… to abstain from those labors and business concerns which impede the worship to be rendered to God, the joy which is proper to the Lord’s Day, or the proper relaxation of mind and body” (CIC, can. 1247).

2194 The institution of Sunday helps all “to be allowed sufficient rest and leisure to cultivate their familial, cultural, social, and religious lives” (GS 67 § 3).

2195 Every Christian should avoid making unnecessary demands on others that would hinder them from observing the Lord’s Day.
