Can I go to my niece's wedding?

My niece is planning a wedding to occur next May and it appears the ceremony will be of the New Age genre. My husband is a Catholic deacon and willl not attend. Is it a sin for me to attend? We could not find a guide in the canonical references for invited guests.

I will only add here that, as a deacon and his wife, your husband and you have special responsibility to ensure that your attendance at a non-Catholic and/or presumptively-invalid wedding is in conformity to the Catholic understanding of marriage and does not cause scandal. If the marriage is presumptively-invalid and/or if the ceremony is antithetical to Christian spirituality, you may have to consider carefully whether your husband’s position as a deacon is known to the wedding party and their guests and whether their knowledge of his position could lead them to conclude by your attendance that the Church looks favorably upon this particular marriage and wedding ceremony.
