Can I have my sick cat blessed?

We recently found out that my cat most likely has cancer and that treatment would be beyond our means. I know that it is common for parish priests to bless pets on St. Francis of Assisi’s feast day, but is it possible to get pets blessed at other times? I know that she does not have an immortal soul, so it’s not like I’m looking for anointing of the sick for a cat, but do you think having her blessed could help at all?

Sure. Just call your parish and ask to make an appointment to meet with the priest for a blessing. If you’re uncertain of the reception you’ll get to asking for a blessing for your cat, you could just make an appointment for “a blessing” without mentioning exactly who you wish to have blessed.
