Can I join two parishes?

I have moved from my home parish and need to find a new parish. The parish closest to my house is new, small, and the church is still under construction. A parish a little further away is more established and had a lot of groups and activities with which I would like to be involved. Can I join both churches, and mostly go to weekly Mass at the close church, but still participate at the other?
 
So far as I know, you should only register at one parish. But you are free to attend and participate at both.
