Can I offer prayers to God for my deceased grand parents who weren’t Christians? I find conflicting arguments on this. What would the members here think about it? 🙏

Certainly! Prayer is talking. Ask God for anything that is good. He will be pleased. He knows the disposition of souls.

One thing I noticed is that it seems throughout the history of the Church, I have never seen a prohibition or even a word said against praying for non-Catholics who have died.

Indeed. It is sad that the OP has heard otherwise.

Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right” Acts 10:34:
Christians were given more, thus more will be expected from Christians. So yes, definitely pray for the souls in purgatory regardless of what religion they were on earth.
