Can I receive communion twice in a day?

Years ago someone told me that one is not allowed to receive Holy Communion more than once per day. The remark was made in reference to a group of women who attended both the 7AM and Noon weekday Masses at our church, and received Communion at both Masses. Is it correct that Communion may only be received once per day?
