Hi,

I am aware of Can. 917 and Can. 921 §2 about receiving Holy Communion no more that twice “on the same day”, unless “in danger of death”. Can. 919 §2 suggest that “[a] priest who celebrates the Most Holy Eucharist two or three times on the same day” would also received at every celebration.

My questions are these:
  1. Can a lay person participating in more than two masses on the same day as an acolyte or extraordinary minister of Holy Communion received in every mass?
  2. Could Can. 919 §2, “[a] priest (emphasis added) who celebrates the Most Holy Eucharist two or three times on the same day can take something [referring to food and drink] before the second or third celebration even if there is less than one hour between them”, be applied to a deacon and/or lay person (e.g. serving as acolyte)?
Thank you,
AG
