Can I receive the Eucharist if I believe I am in a state of "perfect contrition?"

I committed a mortal sin on Saturday and have been in a state of deep remorse for offending our Lord. I am having a hard time finding a priest to hear my confession due to the events of Holy Week. Can I recieve the Eucharist during Holy Week until a priest will be available to hear my confession. I am very worried that I will not be able to receive the Most Blessed Sacrement during Holy Week.

Thank you,

Dear friend,

FIND A PRIEST. If you knew that you were going to die next week, you would leave no stone unmoved to get to a priest. It is impossible to know that one’s contrition is perfect.
If one is in danger of death and a priest cannot be found, then trying to make a perfect contrition is all one has. You are in my prayers.

Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P.
