I am new in this web site and would like to know If I can take communion in a Lutheran Church. I am a Catholic and my first grandchild will be babtized in the Lutheran Church on next Sunday. Can I take communion during the mass as a Catholic and will the baby’s babtism be recognized in the Catholic Church.

Can. 844 §2. Whenever necessity requires it or true spiritual advantage suggests it, and provided that danger of error or of indifferentism is avoided, the Christian faithful for whom it is physically or morally impossible to approach a Catholic minister are permitted to receive the sacraments of penance, Eucharist, and anointing of the sick from non-Catholic ministers** in whose Churches these sacraments are valid**.
(emphasis added)
Since the Lutheran faith community is not considered to have valid sacraments (other than baptism) a Catholic is not permitted to receive communion in a Lutheran service.
