I have recently lost a good friend, she passed away on Saturday. I want to know if I can have a mass said for her. She is not Catholic. Is that okay?

caridad2001,

We are sorry to hear of your friend’s passing. Please know the repose of her soul - and the comfort of her loved ones - will be in our prayers. The following links should assist you in better understanding the Catholic Church’s teaching regarding offering Masses and prayers for deceased non-Catholics. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
