Can one be a Catholic and a Scientologist?

The New York Times is a cult with many far-fetched beliefs concerning abortion and contraception which go strongly against Catholic teachings. Steer clear of it.

HBO isn’t much better.

That’s not to say that Scientology isn’t evil, but surely there are better sources we can find rather than relying on pumping up the view counts on anti-Catholic sites.
Why don’t you reply concerning the subject matter of the article I cited? If I quote Google or Wikipedia, or perhaps Merriam-Webster.com, must I first establish their moral correctness?

I’m endorsing the book, not a newspaper that reviewed it or the company that screens the film adaptation. It’s an exceptional look at Scientology. The author interviewed and documented 200 former and current Scientologists. Which is an astounding collection of witness testimony, in the context of Scientology’s secrecy.
