Dear Apologist
I have noticed in my church during Mass that people, especially with children who are too young to receive Holy Communion and are wanting to be Blessed, are changing queues in order that they can either receive the Host from the Priest or be Blessed by the Priest. As I understand it, the Extr-ordinary Eucharistic Minister can Bless a child with the Host as well as give the Host to the communicant. Is this correct. I take my daughter for a Blessing when I go to communion and when I receive from the Eucharistic Minsiter she always receives a Blessing with the Host. I am growing tired of all the shuffling about when I am going up to receive my Lord. Is what my brothers and sisters are doing, wrong, or is it permissable to do this?
