Can sacramentals be used for animals?

This week my dog had become very sick and, in caring for her, I put a Carmelite scapular and a miraculous medal on her and used holy water not knowing if this okay. She is much, much better now and I suspect she had a bad flu.

Animals may certainly be blessed with holy water. Although I personally might not have gone so far as to put a scapular and medal on a dog, I don’t think it did any harm to do so, as long as you made sure your dog did not try to eat them. Your intent in doing so appears to have been just, so I don’t think you did anything wrong.
