I hate to admit being stumped by one of my seventh grade CCD students. Is this (being everywhere) an attribute all spiritual beings have since they are not bound by space?

I think it would be safe to say that he and his legion are everywhere but in Heaven!
They got kicked out at the rebellion against God… Annunciata:)

No. Satan can’t be everywhere.

No one can be everywhere but God.

The evil forces are always at work within our own selves, are they not? As compared to the perfection of Chirst our morally attrophied lives are rife with temptation at every turn.

God can be everywhere. Satan is a created thing. He cannot be everywhere at the same time like God can. Certainly Satan and his minions can be all out seeking the ruin of souls, but Satan, singular, can only be with one person (or group) at a time.

Are there any references for this statement? I’ve heard it before, but never seen it backed up by anything.

I agree that God is everywhere, it’s the “No one else” aspect I’m interested in references for.

I’d like to add one important thing, however. Spirits and angels are not bound by time as we know it, and operate on a much different aspect of time than we understand. This can give the apprearance that Satan and his many, many minions can be tempting people at the same time.

Satan can do ONLY what God permits him to do. God Bless

I would qualify this statement. No one, other than God, is by nature omnipresent. Angelic beings, such as Satan, have been endowed by the Creator with abilities that are not bound by time and space in the same way that human beings alive on Earth are.

Never underestimate the power of Satan or of evil.

omnipresence means being everywhere. Only God is omnipresent.

same with omniscience. God knows everything, satan does not.

Satan can only be one place at a time, bu he moves fast and has lots of helpers.

Yes, you posters are correct. A demon or Satan can be at one place at one time. Yes, they can move fast. One thing is, Satan nor his demons can read your thoughts unless you of your free will open your mind to them. Here is a webpage from Catholic Encyclopedia.

Satan cannot be everywhere since he is not omnipresent. He cannot and doesn’t know everything, since he is not omniscient. He cannot do everything because he is not omnipotent. But being non-material, he can make it appear that he is such, to deceive people and procure their damnation.
