Can satan possess us?

I can relate to non-ds, I grew up in a non-d church for a few years before we switched to Assemblies of God. I remember how we picked and chose whatever we agreed with from the denominations. The example you gave is one thing I never heard. We believed we could cast out demons in the name of Jesus. Yup, pretty messed up.

That’s what I believe. salvation is a free gift from god @humbleseeker. I don’t trust these heresies. Doing or not doing anything can’t devoid me of getting salvation. I had and will continue now to have a relationship with God. When we believe in Christ and start reading bible, our thoughts themselves start to change. If secular movies or music were sinful. My thoughts about them would have changed. That I shouldn’t be watching them

1784 The education of the conscience is a lifelong task. From the earliest years, it awakens the child to the knowledge and practice of the interior law recognized by conscience. Prudent education teaches virtue; it prevents or cures fear, selfishness and pride, resentment arising from guilt, and feelings of complacency, born of human weakness and faults. The education of the conscience guarantees freedom and engenders peace of heart.

1792 Ignorance of Christ and his Gospel, bad example given by others, enslavement to one’s passions, assertion of a mistaken notion of autonomy of conscience, rejection of the Church’s authority and her teaching, lack of conversion and of charity: these can be at the source of errors of judgment in moral conduct.

When I pressed on and suggested that Jesus mentions Hell I was told by them “That was a metaphor, Jesus always spoke in metaphors

@steelarchangel I meant that any sin except the mortal ones can be forgiven. If not what was the crucification for? 🤔
 
@vz71. but after repenting ,we have to make sure that we never do that sin again. cz that’s what repentence means. Not like protestants. Do as you may , all your sins will be forgiven

People can and do become possessed. The Church has specialists who handle this Fr. Gary Thomas | Catholic Answers & Demonic possession exorcism
 
Some sort of weird practice that the “spirits of your ancestors and those who have passed on” are eager and waiting to be called upon by you to watch over them.

The assumption is that if you’re just a regular ole Christian, you automatically go to Heaven. All you do is ask for these spirits of “energy, love, and light” to come into your life and surround you and guide you. Then you’re constantly protected.

Newsflash, not everyone goes to Heaven and not all spirits are good.
