I realize that impotence is an impediment to marriage; but if both parties are aware that one is impotent due to paralysis, can they marry or are they forbidden?
The reason impotence is an impediment to marriage is because the possibility must exist that both parties will be capable of consummating the marriage. If one party is known to be permanently and irreversibly impotent at the time of the marriage, he cannot marry. Whether or not the prospective spouse knows about the impotence is irrelevant.
