I am a junior in high school and am interested in joining a latin rite seminary like the institute. The website is fairly vague so i would like to know more about their seminary. I mostly want to know if I would learn italian since the seminary is in Italy and how competitive it is to get in ad well as the preseminary program. Thanks

Welcome to CAF.

The only question I can answer is the one about language. You would learn some Italian in order to function in the area around the seminary, but instruction is in French so you would need to have an advanced command of that language in order to pursue formation at Gricigliano.

The Institute in Gricigliano Italy? If you live in USA then the pre-seminary preparation is in the US.

Their website states (for the Institute):
Every candidate to the priesthood in the Institute must learn or know at least two languages other than his own. For those who speak English, these include Latin and French.

This pre-seminary prep (which I think happens in St. Louis) is directed to learning Latin and French so that you may begin your studies.
