What does the Priest say between the Our Father and “for the kingdom and the power, and the glory…”
Thank you.
Thank you.
Anyone may pray that prayer at home.Thank you! That is so beautiful.
Is that something we can pray as a family, or is a prayer that only a Priest should pray?

If it’s in Archdale King’s Notes on the Catholic Liturgies, I’ll post it when I get home.I have this vague memory that the prayer originated when the barbarians were at the gates of Rome. … If anyone knows, please post.
I read some where that it is from the protestants, but I can not locate it now. And, best I remember it was from a reliable source.By the way, I was wondering…is it true that the phrase, “for the kingdom and the power, and the glory…” was adapted from Protestant services?
I don’t think it’s found in the Tridentine Missal.
Seeing as how those words appear in some codices of the gospels, and it’s in chapter 8 of the Didache, I would not say that it was “adapted from Protestant services”. Some Protestants treat it as “part” of the Lord’s Prayer; in the Ordinary Form, it is used as a “response” to the embolism of the priest after the Lord’s Prayer. Its (re-?)inclusion in the Mass could be seen as an ecumenical gesture.By the way, I was wondering…is it true that the phrase, “for the kingdom and the power, and the glory…” was adapted from Protestant services?
